This wall without hope

is my home.

This used and reused

needle is my stability.

Hit and miss

high not high

I can wait for a

field officer or even

a final year social work

student to make another

court report.

Am I lucky to have such

close attention?

There is graffiti above

the concrete bed.

Death is welcomed here

If I survive this and hustle

for a high, who knows

maybe for another few

moments I’ll stay and see

out the system’s justice
